On a German forum, there’s been speculation about an experiment that’s gonna be conducted by CERN (Central European Nuclear Research) and that the world’s gonna end on september 10, 2008. This experiment is about colliding sub-atomic particles called ‘Hadrons’ and finding the secrets of the Universe (and unlock the secrets of the ‘Big Bang’). A couple of friends are already throwing a party using the pretext of this event and that the world’s gonna end..lol (in a lighter vein).
LHC (Large Hadron Collider) is the one, which was described in one of those Dan Brown’s novels and some of things that are said about the CERN and LHC, in the novel (Angels And Demons) are true. It is 100 mts below the ground and 27 kms in circumference and spans across the Swiss-French border at Geneva, Switzerland.
This experiment could be pretty useful in many facets of life and can change the way we looked at some things that we saw differently before and bring in, the new perspective. But as per some sources of info, it is said to be a risky business, as this could result in the the creation of a ‘Black-Hole’ that could suck the planet. Here is the source for this info:

A couple of months back, I had an oppurtunity to visit the CERN campus and also the LHC, but didn’t happen due to other commitments. Now, the LHC (underground) is closed (since April 6th) to visitors. But if you are interested, you can probably see other things there (like the microcosm, et al). i dont think its gonna happen because one i dont belive in this sort of stuff in the first place and that the other thing was i dont think its ever gonna happen in the first place and plus why do people belive that the worlds gonna end anyway it a possible chance 1 out of 10billion chances that the worlds gonna end anyway and plus why do you have to say it before the actuall day when you could of talked about it before the day but

Hey there, Jasmine and Shelby…There’s no need to panic. I dont believe it either and also I admire the work done by CERN folks. I just posted the info regarding this event and provided some info. Apart from that, its a fact that there is a risk associated with that experiment (Obviously and Logically). This is because they are producing anti-matter (they have been doing this since a while already) . And what we have on our Mother Earth and its atmosphere is “Matter’. So, they contain is anti-matter in a specially designed box’s or canisters which has no air (implies vacuum). So, its just a possibilty that if it leaks and gets in touch with air, it might be a disaster. I dont know much and I aint into this stuff, but I do follow a bit and thats how I could explain this. And coming to the Sep 10th event, its a major one and they are colliding subatomic particles Hadrons (or whatever) and if thats successful (hopefully), we can get to know a bit of the secrets of the Universe (Big Bang Theory). Anyways, there’s no need to panic..Go, let your hair down and party (not because the world’s gonna end)!!!
i cannot believe it. the world isnt gonna end. it is completely impossible for US to create a black hole. we cant make anything like that even if we wanted to. and besides, whos bright idea was it to just scare the crap out of people all over the world. i swear i will notify everyone in the country if i have to if this psycho or psychos keep sayin this again. there will NOT be a tolerance of this cruel act…thanks for reading.
Who talked about the US here? (CERN is at Geneva, Switzerland). Who said that its a cruel idea? Who said that they are trying to scare the shit outta people?……You are assuming/imagining all the things. Go through the CERN articles (through the links that I provided in the post) and figure it out for yourself, if you are mature enough to understand all those things. So far, all the things that were born at CERN were good..WWW(web) is one of the things that came out. Go, read that and elighten yourself!

very informative if somewhat scary, in my opinion things should be left as they are and stop messing with splitting atoms etc etc i mean god look at what happened to all those innocent people in hiroshima etc just by messing with the A bomb. And now sub-atomic particles, fair enough it may help discover the big-bang theory but it may also bring about the end of the human race woah scary
